For the capstone project we had to choose a MIT technology that was being researched and create a product based off of that technology. I chose The Amoeba Wall, which is a robotic wall that has the ability to move around without being moved by a person, rather remote control or automatically. I chose to take this technology and create a product for musicians who want to enhance their live show. The Wall of Sound would be aimed at creating an opportunity to add privacy for an artist wanting to exit the stage, an artist who is taking their solo, or as an added enhancement to an artist's live show.
This was my favorite part during the creative process. In Illustrator I made a mock up of what the Wall of Sound would actually look like, imported it into Photoshop and added light effects, then placed it behind my bass player. I was pleased with how real I could make the product look.
For the magazine advertisement, guerilla marketing, and web banner, I wanted to create an effect that appeared as if you were exclusively watching a band through a broken wall. I feel that it helped me further my message.
